Main responsibilities:

  • Manage process and controls for the global business to ensure that the business unit finance teams follow Group guidance on financial policy and processes; hence requires being a first point of contact for operational finance teams;
  • Ensure learning across business units are shared and optimised to help us develop faster. This includes travelling to other countries, attending management meetings and being an extension of the local teams for matters relating to controls;
  • Manage risk across the business by being: i) the main point of contact for Financial Control with the Internal Audit team; and ii) the Group Finance owner on implementing agreed remediation action on issues identified through internal and external audit;
  • Identify gaps in Group wide financial controls and implement new controls and processes (current processes being implemented include: journals, balance sheet reconciliations, recharges and intercompany transactions and financial change management);
  • Group Finance representative on Data Governance Council and Policy Review Panel;
  • Support the Head of Group Reporting and Control in any other ad hoc duties as required.

Global Accounting Network are working with a FTSE 100 technology business who has established itself as one of Europe’s most innovative and successful businesses over the past five years. Only recently our client announced a significant rise in revenue as it is target £1bn in sales in 2019.

This is a newly created position which will be based at the company’s global head office in central London. The role will oversee the finance teams across all markets and central functions to ensure consistent and correct accounting, policy and procedures, balance sheet oversight and risk management. This role will offer a lot of room to prove yourself and to progress. 

The successful candidate will have:

  • Professional accounting qualification (ACA, CIMA, ACCA);
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills;
  • 1st rate attention to detail;
  • Ability to commit and perform to a high level;
  • Motivated and pro-active approach to work;
  • Excellent organisational and multitasking skills;
  • Good working knowledge of a first class control environment (e.g. first-hand experience of a company operating under S404);
  • Experience working for or with a UK listed group;
  • Practical experience of Microsoft Visio.
