Main responsibilities:

  • This is a management role where the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing payment processes and ensuring suppliers are paid in a timely manner, ensuring appropriate controls are in place. Additionally, ensuring daily transactions are appropriately monitored, with cash kept at an appropriate level.
  • Responsibility for ensuring employee expenses are administered accurately and in a timely manner and supporting non-finance staff with processing claims are all key components of this role.
  • Month end tasks will involve balance sheet reconciliations, prepayments, closing payables and receivables ledgers, reviewing and signing off the month end reconciliations and working generally to support the Finance Manager with ensuring monthly reporting cycles are met.

The role will involve supporting the Finance Manager by overseeing both accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, expenses and direct responsibility for month end tasks. We are looking for a highly driven, motivated and ambitious individual. This is a great stepping-stone for someone who is Part-Qualified (studying CIMA or ACCA) who can use this role to gain both management experience but also be an integral part of a small finance team.

  • Extremely technically strong, you will experience several tests during the course of the interview.
  • Core fundamental knowledge of debit and credit.
  • Previous experience managing a small team of transactional staff
  • Ability to motivate and develop existing team members, 
  • Familiarity with testing end to end financial processes and controls
  • Exposure to a range of IT packages 
  • Good technical accounting knowledge
  • Valuable team player, who is happy to be hands on in their approach.
