JOB FUNCTION: Finance manager

Main responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the Finance function
  • Preparation, analysis and presentation of monthly management accounts, including commentary, and highlighting potential risks and opportunities affecting outturn against plan.
  • Careful cashflow management.
  • Preparation of annual budgets and long-term financial forecasts.
  • Analysis of income and costs, highlighting areas of concern.
  • Maintenance and analysis of catering and bar sales, stocks and margins.
  • Reconciliation of stock records to stock takes. Periodically assist with physical stock take and identify areas of concern.
  • Analysis of margins, payroll costs and other KPIs
  • Maintain purchase, sales and deposits by event ledgers.
  • Posting of bank receipts and payments.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, and credit card sales and purchases, reconcile and post prepayments and accruals on a monthly basis.

Beautiful and diverse countryside estate with a high-end hotel, organic farm, wellness retreat and sports facilities within the group require a Finance Manager to join at their Berkshire based HQ.  

The role will work closely with the CEO helping drive the business, whilst also managing day to day finance operations overseeing a team of three. The role will be hybrid, working between home and the office.

Skills/Experience Required:


  • At least 4 years solid practical financial management experience working at a senior level, tackling a range of financial processes with robust financial management.
  • Deadline driven with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Experience in dealing with and presenting to various stakeholders, including trustees, owners and banks.
  • Strong experience of working in a customer focused organisation.


  • Professional qualification (ACCA or CIMA).
  • Experience in the Hospitality and/or wellbeing industry and/or farming or estate management.
  • Experience working with Trusts and a multi-company environment.
  • Experience of hotel management and accounting software, specifically Avondata, Izettle and Sage.
