Main responsibilities:

  • Preparing management accounts
  • Maintaining books and records.
  • Processing invoices and expenses using Xero
  • Assisting with the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
  • Producing financial metrics and reports.
  • Preparing financial packs for board meetings.
  • Supporting the FD and wider team with ad-hoc tasks as required.
  • Preparing financial compliance data and records keeping.
  • Assisting with financial regulatory reporting requirements
  • Ensuring timely and accurate submissions to regulatory bodies.
  • Providing administrative support to the compliance team as needed.
  • Assisting with the ongoing optimisation of finance systems and processes.
  • Ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information.
  • Assisting with Firm’s audit process.

This Junior Accountant job is a great opportunity for an aspiring finance candidate who wishes to expand their knowledge whilst taking on an integral position within the team, overseeing the day to day running of the finance function. The successful Junior Accountant will work closely with the firm’s Corporate Business Team and be working closely with the Finance Director and wider finance team. Individual Attributes

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business or related field.
  • Experience in bookkeeping.
  • Familiarity with accounting software (Xero preferred) and applications.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, with intermediate level Excel.
  • Conscientious, relentless, resilient, and excellent attention to detail.
  • Proactive with hands on attitude.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of small team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly numerate with financial awareness and qualitative & quantitative skills.
  • While having a background in financial compliance is not essential, the ideal candidate must have a genuine interest in compliance and possess the ability to quickly learn the necessary skills.
