Main responsibilities:

Management and development of a direct report
Ownership of the month end close process
Ensure compliance with regulation, internal policies and technical accounting standards
Owning the year end audit process, including the preparation of statutory consolidated accounts
Internal controls/improvement of processes

Global Accounting Network are currently partnering with a reputable name within the Insurance, underwriting space.

They are now looking to hire a Financial Controller into a newly created role, where you will be responsible for one of the divisions in the group, alongside managing a direct report.

With ongoing growth and acquisitions within the group, there will be plenty of opportunities to progress longer term.

Skills/experience required:

Qualified Accountant (ACA or equivalent)
External audit background highly desirable
Experience in a financial accounting role, preparing statutory accounts under IFRS
Proven experience improving processes
Natural leadership ability, with the desire to step into people management officially
