Main responsibilities:

  • Taking full ownership of the group cash flow statement under the indirect method, ensuring accurate preparation in line with IFRS and providing detailed commentary on cash movements and trends.
  • Acting as the primary point of contact for lender reporting, managing the timely and accurate submission of compliance deliverables, including covenant certificates and supporting analysis.
  • Overseeing the accounting for the group’s term loan balances, including interest accruals, repayments, and valuation movements, ensuring compliance with IFRS 9.
  • Reviewing monthly territory reporting packs, providing insights, feedback, and ensuring lease modifications and new agreements are accounted for under IFRS 16.
  • Supporting the monthly consolidation of group financial statements under IFRS 10, ensuring accurate eliminations and reviewing inputs from individual entities.
  • Preparing and delivering core financial reporting outputs for senior stakeholders, including board packs, lender reports, and executive summaries.
  • Managing the coordination and preparation of lender presentation materials for quarterly and year-end reporting.
  • Collaborating with the corporate accounting and FP&A teams to provide working capital insights and support strategic decision-making.
  • Playing a key role in quality-of-earnings analysis and valuation support for strategic projects.
  • Supporting refinancing initiatives through the preparation of materials for internal and external stakeholders.

The position of Reporting Accountant offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of finance, private equity-style reporting, and international operations. Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, this role plays a critical part in managing lender relationships and ensuring compliance with financial reporting requirements. The Reporting Accountant will gain end-to-end exposure to group financing activities, IFRS reporting, and consolidation processes. This is a highly visible role that provides the chance to work with senior stakeholders, both internally and externally, while driving impactful financial insights and contributing to strategic decision-making.

Skills/experience required:

  •  Fully qualified ACA or ACCA professional.
  •  Proven post-qualification experience in financial reporting within an international, multi-site organization, ideally in the retail, hospitality, or leisure sectors.
  •  Strong understanding of month-end close processes
  •  Experience in group financial consolidation and lease accounting under IFRS 16.
  •  Familiarity with IFRS loan accounting and investor reporting.
  •  Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements, automation, and error reduction.
  •  Advanced analytical skills with a logical approach to problem-solving.
  •  Proficiency in using MS Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  •  Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate effectively at all levels.
  •  Strong organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage competing demands.
