Main responsibilities:

  • Prepare consolidated financial management reporting monthly, including consolidation journals.
  • Produce the financial statements for the holding entity with robust management reporting.
  • Produce quarterly and yearly consolidated statutory accounts.
  • Review monthly financial statements of all the group’s entities, ensuring accuracy and control.
  • Manage the group-wide yearly audits and work closely with senior management to meet all filing deadlines.
  • Provide expert advice on specialist and technical accounting areas to ensure consistent accounting treatment across all entities.
  • Continually strive to improve the quality and timeliness of group reporting processes.
  • Liaise with external auditors, tax, treasury, and legal departments, among others.
  • Line manage a junior accountant, fostering their professional development.

This role offers a unique opportunity to lead the group’s financial reporting and balance sheet management. As the Group Reporting Manager, you will play a critical role in the consolidation of over 20 entities and manage the yearly audits. Reporting directly to the group CFO and supported by a junior accountant, this position offers the chance to make a significant impact on financial processes and contribute to overall success.

Skills/experience required:

  • Proven experience in financial management reporting and consolidation.
  • Strong knowledge of statutory accounts preparation, including balance sheets and cash flow statements.
  • Ability to liaise with staff at all levels to ensure data accuracy and timeliness.
  • Experience managing group-wide yearly audits and meeting filing deadlines.
  • Expertise in technical accounting areas and the ability to draft and implement new finance policies.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to business partner across key cost areas.
  • Desirable: Experience in overseeing the completion of Office for National Statistics returns.
  • Desirable: Line management experience, particularly managing part-qualified accountants.
