Main responsibilities:

Managing and improving the monthly reporting cycle
Developing management accounting information to add commercial value
Driving improvements in financial controls
Improving financial operating processes and systems
Developing cash flow forecasting and reporting
Managing and improving the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions – there’s a lot of value to add here!

Our client is an energy business with a number of new projects in the pipeline as part of the energy transition. They are looking for an interim Financial Controller to support the finance director through a transition period.

Skills/experience required:

Experienced financial controller happy to be very hands on
Good team management and track record of upskilling people
A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
Ideally strong experience in energy or larger capex environments
Strong understanding of the underlying basics in accounting, good balance sheet rigour, strong process and controls, etc.
Significant experience of running and improving AP and AR
Exceptional interpersonal skills, able to gel quickly with different areas of finance and the broader business
A proven drive to create “best in class” wherever you go, with a curiosity to match
Problem solver, deep numerical skills, and attention to detail
Generally work from home with the ability to attend offices around the UK, as and when needed.

The role is a 3-6 month contract, with an immediate start.

Day rate is negotiable depending on experience, with a likely range of £450-550 inside IR35.
