Main responsibilities:

  • Manage the reporting timetable and preparation of evidence/accounting papers required by the business and its auditors
  • Prepare calculations and accounting papers for key accounting judgements
  • Streamline working papers, calculations and documents preparation processes
  • Provide technical support and expertise to the group, offering guidance on complex accounting issues and assisting in decision-making processes.
  • Review group-wide accounting under complex standards, such as IFRS 9, IFRS 15, IFRS 16 etc.
  • Assist the delivery of the Annual Report and Accounts with particular focus on accounting policies and disclosures
  • Detailed review of the results, liaison with divisions to ensure accuracy of reporting
  • Assist in implementing internal controls improvements identified as part of the reporting process
  • Point of contact for external auditors, coordinating audit processes and addressing any inquiries or concerns that arise
  • Various ad-hoc projects and initiatives.

We're partnered with a listed business moving towards a transaction who need an interim group reporting manager for 12 months to help them improve their reporting, advise on technical matters, and help deliver their audit.

You'll be working with a CFO who has a strong pedigree in people management and offering opportunity to learn and improve. This role will be a good challenge for a technically strong accountant who enjoys managing and delivering complex reporting and audits and ultimately helping the transaction go through successfully.

Skills/experience required:

  • A fluent Russian speaker as you’ll be dealing directly with a Russian-speaking business unit
  • Strong technical accounting background
  • Significant experience in similar roles
  • Track record of delivering timely and smooth audits
  • Previous experience in complex listed businesses
  • Effective organisational ability and time management skills are crucial, with the ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Most likely an ACA or ACCA qualification although all accounting qualifications will be considered

The business has a very flexible working policy but has a London office and you’ll need to be able to get there from time to time (maybe weekly or bi-weekly).

The role has an urgent start and you’ll need to be available within two weeks.

The role will be a FTC for 12 months.
