Buster Kennett, CFO and financial leader | Finding success in unexpected places

The world of accounting and finance is changing rapidly. The old ways of doing business no longer work in the modern era. And that’s exactly why we’ve launched The Variants Analysis podcast. Listen now to episode 5 of our first season to hear all about the changing business landscape and how to find success in 2021.

In this episode, our host Adrian O’Connor, founding partner of Global Accounting Network, speaks to CFO and finance leader, Buster Kennett about his experience and unconventional career path.

Buster Kennett has had an interesting career since 1989 when he started as an auditor at KPMG. He has since travelled the world, working in five different countries, and gained a wealth of experience in a number of areas. While his success has not been linear, it has been definite. He’s worked for big names like Sara Lee and Brambles, as well as taken time off to focus on what matters to him most.

On the podcast today, Buster speaks about taking time off to travel, gaining new experiences, and finding success in unexpected places. Where other people see career risks, he sees career opportunities. He has some interesting advice for hiring managers and people looking to advance their careers.
